Had on tap at Founders Taproom last year during the Black Party.
A-Well...probably the strongest characteristic of the brew. Founders Oatmeal Stout produces quite a thick head when on nitro while BBA Frangelic has probably the nicest white head I've ever seen on a nitro beer. Crisp angelic white.
S-Nothing really robust here. Some roasted coffee, that smell you often pick up in nitro beers, and dark chocolate.
T-Okay...where is the barrel taste? I've had regular Frangelic Stout from Founders and it's probably my favorite taproom specialty in class-1. Somehow, the barrel version loses almost everything. The taste lacked any real depth from either the coffee or the barrel. Instead it tasted like a unhopped version of the oatmeal stout.
M-What you'd expect from a nitro beer. Very creamy mouthfeel that is easy to drink.
Once again, all over the map. Not sure if it didn't barrel for long enough or if the nitro killed everything they were trying to get out of this beer.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
