On tap at JHBH in Pittsburgh. Please bear in mind that I'm not comparing this to (insert fave beer name here), I'm reviewing it as a fruit beer.
A: Clear golden in color. Some sediment seen with what looks like tiny chunks of fruit in the glass. No real head on this one, just a collar.
S: Very nice in the nose. I was expecting something a bit more fruity/sweet smelling, but found the beer to have a nice noble hop aroma with an understated smell of plums, and a nice sweet malty aroma. This beer smelled wonderful and only got better after warming up a bit and letting more of the hops come out.
T: Super clean tasting. Nice malty taste, the plums just seem to comliment this beer, rather than defining it. Hop bitterness is low in level and late in the taste, it almost seems to just set you up for the next sip. There's a bit of an earthy taste in there which keeps this from being too sweet or cloying.
M: Very light in body. Low levels of alcohol, very nicely done CO2. Very clean.
D&N: I really like this beer. It's a very refreshing beer that seems like it would be just perfect on a hot summer day (right now it's a bit chilly). The blurb on the menu states that there were 84 pounds of plums added to the recipe, but this beer isn't over the top fruity. The hops in this one are used very well. I'm looking forward to coming back to have another one of these tasty beers.
