The prickly pear wheat is brewed with fresh picked prickly pears. The menu says "magentalicious" and the pint glass arrives filled with a bright pink/magenta beer. Almost no head, and what there is vanishes quickly, leaving almost no lacing. The smell is mildly sweet, but not of a typical wheat beer, but rather of dry fruit. The prickly pear come through in the finish, at the very last minute, and lend a dry, sweet quality to the beer. Hints of cherry as well. None of the typical wheat beer flavors. This is a light bodied, gently carbonated, beer, and if you can get past the shockingly bright color, you will be rewarded with a unique beer.
