Brewed with Pale, Roasted, Chocolate, and Black malts. 20 pounds of raspberries were also in the kettle. Hopped with Fuggles. Not the same as the other Raspberry Dark. Different ABV and profile, brewed for Valentines Day.
Very dark brown, nearly opaque body that may or may not have been hazy. I just couldn't tell. Thin layer of head.
Aroma was of dark malt, coffee, and roasted malt. Slight raspberry at the end of the nose.
Taste was roasted barley, coffee, charred barley, and a prolonged raspberry aftertaste.
Mouthfeel was good, full, a little chewy, overall nice body.
Drinkability is pretty good. Not sure that I would want a 22 oz. glass, but I could do a pint.
