According to MJ's website BeerHunter, this beer was awarded "Champion Beer of London" in 2001~~ Brewed with American hops and 95% crystal malt and 5% wheat for head retention and served at a lower temp. on tap, this beer resembles more of American West Cost style pale ale than the English counterpart.
A: it pours a copper hue, the beer head is very thin, leaving uneven lacing... low carbonation.
S: faint trace of marmalade, orange-candy, lightly fruit-ester and faintly buttery--at the slightly lower serving temp. the aroma is a bit held back but one can still appreciate the balanced note of hops and malts.
T: a profound flavour of orange-peel upfront, along with deep-running and very dryish tangy hops, light-caramel (without the sugary edge) texture, a tinge of fresh wheats... More floral and intense zesty hops combine with a note of marmalade again towards the finish, leaving a very well lingering and dryish bitterness.
M&D: overall very refreshing, the deeply zesty and tangy touch keeps the palate lively throughout the drink. This is a very thirst-quenching beer, though the body is a bit thin overall; still it's a refreshing brew ideal for a hot summer afternoon IMO.
