Brief impressions from a 33cl bottle purchased in Helsinki:
A: Pours a ~1.5 inch wide head of off-white colour. Average characteristics. Wants for more frothiness and cream.
Body is copper in colour and of average vibrance. Clean, with no visible yeast particles.
Head retention is nice - ~4 minutes. It appears well-carbonated, but lacks any stand-out characteristics.
Sm: Barley, pale malts, hints of buttery diacetyl, and a kiss of herbal hops.
Generic and inexpressive, suggesting a shallow simple beer with no desirable characteristics.
Aromatic intensity is average.
T: Cream, barley, overly bitter herbal and floral hop notes, obnoxious buttery diacetyl, shallow character-less malts. Decent balance, subpar build. Not gestalt.
Average intensity and duration of flavour. It's simple and shallow, with no intricacy or nuance whatsoever. There's no subtlety to this.
Mf: Slightly coarse. Overcarbonated. Wet. Unrefreshing. Medium-bodied. Doesn't harmonize with the taste, nor does it elevate the beer as a whole.
O: Mediocre shlock from Stadin Panimo. Neither true to style nor interesting. Won't appeal to the discerning drinker, but it's drinkable, sure. Diehard ESB enthusiasts will be very disappointed.

Batch #459
Appearance: Copper. Pours a foamy two finger head with evident carbonation. Head recedes moderately quickly. Looks very tempting.
Aroma: Fresh mix of hops and spices, with some caramel and floral sweetness. Very summery!
Taste: Surprisingly malty. Caramel, some spiceness. Hops are not overwhelming, but provide more of a fresh aroma and taste, typical for English IPAs. Very robust taste, with a fairly hars and bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: A little sticky somehow. Moderate carbonation.
Overall: Good beer. An original approach to the English ESB, with no shortage of hops or malt. Tasty and bitter!
