Well there has to be a market for this since its still on the shelf. Drank hobo style straight for the bottle. Big sweet bomb of dark fruits sugary esters and some mild bittering acidic flavor in the finish. ABV doesn't become evident until it warms up so I ended up tossing the last 4 ounces. I had both this one and the Before After and agree this one is a pretty big boozy mess. Not sure if I would pick it up again but agree it is better than most malt liquors I have had.

I barely have a sense of smell (due to chemical exposure) so you should ignore my review. I ranked the smell a 5 because I actually can smell some of it (reminds me of what green apples used to smell like). I enjoy the taste because it registers to my broken taste pallet as a dry apple cider. I dump it in a stein and let the head dissipate then scoop out the yeast off from the top which makes it tastes smoother. I also like it because I can drink a pint for less than $4 and keep it to one drink per night (OK...OK...it's three drinks in one but stop ruining my delusion with your logic). Warning: Drinking several of these back to back may cause temporary blindness and a strange desire to wander the neighborhood.

L: Cloudy with a stubbornly small head.

S: A fruity aroma that I can't quite place, but raisins come to mind.

T: Definitely the low point. There's an underlying tang to the complex flavors that just turn me off. There's a surprising kick to this one due to the higher ABV than most other beers.

F: Medium and smooth.

O: Probably wouldn't drink this again. It's an interesting experience and a great choice of beer if your looking to get pasted, but at that point you might as well grab a whiskey. (Knob Creek Single Barrel is excellent btw)

From the bottle, it pours a pretty solid clear amber with virtually no head. In the nose, it is sweetish with alcohol. In the mouth, it is the same cloyingly sweet malt with a sledgehammer of alcohol.

Mix it with a light lager and it might be quaffable, otherwise, it is a way of getting a lot of alcohol in your system quickly.

Well, at least I can cross Lithuania off my list. Damn, that is one strong beer. Three sips in and it's almost nap time. Big alcohol flavor, cherries and figs. Sweet. Don't know if I'd try it again.

Poured from a brown 16.9 oz. bottle. Has a copper color with no head whatsoever. Smell is of alcohol, sugars. Taste is alcohol, sugars, some dark fruits, malts, a slight bit of an alcohol burn. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall, considering the price point and the abv, I was expecting much worse, but I don't see myself drinking this again.

Taste: spiced woody odd notes maybe some caramel malt or cinnamon. dark fruit sweet malt nose. Copper/Amber color, clear, not head or lace. Medium/Full body. I see some rate this much lower, maybe they improved some since then. at 16% ABV its more liquor than beer.

Better than "Effin' Awesome" from the bottle in a snifter. This beast pours like
Effin....bright orange copper with a head that appears and then is gone. Nose of
strong booze, brown sugars, and caramel malts. Flavors lightly exceed the nose with
apples and brown sugars warmed with grain touched booze. Decent mouth feel,
low LOW carbonation, warm, and....well...warm. It's better than Effin', but still
lacks a lot of depth, then again, this is a fine warmer for the cold months ahead.

As in Kerosene is cleaner than diesel.

Cheers

I tried my best to generate some head and came away with just a bit more than a thin fleeting foaminess over this clear ruby red lager.

Nose reminds me of what that stuff in "Stretch Armstrong" smelled like. For those of you that never pulled one apart, I'll describe; caramel, very sweet fig, toffee and that fluffy white Christmas candy called divinity.

Immediate cherry taste that gets bullied out of the way by heat. Secondary taste is not too different from Robitussin. Specifically, the expectorant.

Body is thin yet mealy, and the aftertaste is like rubbing alcohol. I'd dump it but I kind of want to see what 16oz. (+\-) of 16% does to my enjoyment of dumb plays by the Redskins.

At FFB draft....buddy brought this bomb. It poured a clear orangish with no head and no lace. The scent is over ripe fruit. The taste is dark fruit mash with alcohol. The Mouthfeel is medium in body with poor carbonation. Overall it's a monster beer....Worth a try...but a taste is enough for me.
