Appearance: huge head, high carbonation, clear, gold

Smell: belgian spices, malt, lemon, and a twinge of orange

Taste: hops, lemon, a bit of orange, coriander, and other belgian spices

Mouthfeel: light, crisp, semi-bitter, can feel the carbonation

Drinkability: I think this is fairly average for the style. It does hit the style guidelines however. The carbonation is really high on this one. While the flavors come through, it is fairly standard. I will have just one.

Had from the bottle at a bar in St Johns. Its advertised as a belgian style ale - which from a brewing standpoint sounds perfect when brewing in such a hot place. The yeast must love living in the carribean...
Nice hefe/belgian yeast aromas...some slight banana and noble hop aroma. Bready malt notes as well. Flavor is somewhat fruity wheaty hay, with a touch of noble hop. The belgian yeast makes it somewhat fruity - and this is actually pleasant. Like the rest of their brews; nothing amazing here, but more than drinkable - and much better than Presidente!

From tap to shaker glass at the St. John Brewing Taproom on 6/5/11
*From notes

A: Cloudy, murky pale creamy amber. Good head, 1.5 fingers and nice lacing.

S: Muted traditional Belgian nose, with a dallop of yeast and orange peel.

T: A bit all over the place, yet not enough. It's slightly musty, a little yeasty, a bit citrusy and wholly malty.

M: A bit thin, but the ABV justifies the lack of real body.

O: St. John's Liquid Sunshine is a reasonably tasty Pale Wheat. It could use a bit of refining, but for ease of drinking, it's not half bad.

Liquid Sunshine, plenty of the sunshine here in the sunshine state, let's try some of the liquid variety. Like the label. Popping the top on this BOTMC arrival, I get a delicious Belgian smell and its characteristics of yeast and clove spice. Poured into a pint glass I get a cloudy bright yellow brew with a fat foamy head. On the taste this brew delivers a crisp slightly candied, clove and banana flavor. Mostly consistent throughout on the flavor, the mouthfeel is great, zesty but not over-powering. I like this brew, Belgian flavor, but lighter, not in flavor, but alcohol and weight, in the island style. Great summer brew. Great sessioner. I would pick this up for summer parties here in the tropics.

Got this in a BotM shipment.

Poured into a stemmed tulip: Pale golden-orange, translucent, just a wisp of foam & a thin color of head. Leaves no lacing.

Smell is mild banana, orange peel, Juicy Fruit gum, other spices -- it's all right there, all the components. Decent, nothing outstanding.

Sweet, subdued lemon & banana in the taste, with a tart wheat twist. Again, nothing special, but light, refreshing, & flavorful.

Smooth, a little sticky but very crisp & a little dry in the finish.

Man, I would've sworn this was a wit, with the orange peel & coriander as present as they were. I guess the yeast is the difference? Anyway, this was very easy-drink, that good, crisp, dry ending is the kicker. Nothing special, but a great summer beer.

I had this beer on Tap last night and the immediate taste was the average wheat beer, but then I could taste the hops wanting to come out near the end but they never do and that was very disappointing.

After this beer I had to have another beer that I like just to make my taste buds happy.

Liquid Sunshine pours a yellow color with a thick white head from a brown twelve ounce bottle. The aroma has some spice to it, possibly coriander. The flavor is mild, possibly a touch of coriander and then wheat comes on strong. Perhaps a touch of citrus? I think this tastes mostly like a wit beer, the label says Belgian style beer, obviously that doesn't mean much. Decent, goes down easy.

Enjoyed at the tap room on st john virgin island.

A: single finger head with nice lacing on a cloudy golden with a slight amber hue body.

S: fruity saison like aroma and a little spice.

T: flavor is fairly on with the style. The low ABV is apparent as it is a touch watery. Pale malt with slight bittering hops up front with a fruity citrus finish.

M: light to medium body and moderate carbonation. Semi dry in the finish.

Overall: nice representation of the style. Just a touch watery up front otherwise a well made brew.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into my Dogfish shaped pint glass. Poured a hazy golden amber color with a thin but bubbly white head to it.

The aroma has a banana flavor to it with some orange peel and lemon citrus coming through as well. A little bit of spice and some bready malty flavors show as well.

The taste has a lot of similar qualities that the nose had. Banana, citrus, spice are all present. The citrus flavor shows even more in the finish.

The mouthfeel is light and carbonation is above average. Drinkability is average. It didn't really have any outstanding characteristics to it. It wasn't bad, and went down pretty easy on this hot day but overall it wasn't anything special.
