nice munich style brew here, served in the traditional 1/4 liter glass for only $2.50. clear copper color ale with a small to very small white head. smells like german malts, on the lighter side of both flavor and body. some balancing bitter hops also, but in a supporting role only. flavor is light too, malt driven, and potentially amenable to a whole bunch of nice food. there is a way back there sweetness from the malts, and a very slow finish that is uncommon in a beer this light in feel. looks way darker than it feels, almost watery in feel. mellow carbonation, and lower in alcohol than some of these. sessionable, but not a beer to spend too much time on at dry dock. they do a ton of more interesting stuff, still, a nice take on the altbier.

Poured at the brewery into a traditional Altbier glass. Crystal clear, dark brown. Nice lacing throughout the drink. Pleasant bitterness with a light malt sweetness. No hop aroma. Maybe a slight roast malt character if you really went looking for it. Very drinkable, I love it only being 4.8%ABV. Great job.

At the brewpub with a brewer. Unfiltered version, wine colour. Served a little cold but it was minus F outside. Rich malting, subtle carbonation, above average mouthfeel. Lacey. Rich malting in aroma.Caramel, yet not overally sweet as 53 IBU balances it out. Very good drinkability. Great alt.
