A: Very dense in color, dark yellow, leaning on orange. Huge carwash foam head. Massive rising carbonation, at least initially.
S: Fresh, punchy yeast, mildly sweet, citrus notes.
T: Sour citrus with a heaviness in the yeast. Slightly sweet. Ok, nothing special.
M: Fairly soft, very light carbonation.
O: Ok. Not outstanding, but certainly drinkable.

Carbonation is very lively, clarity is high for the style, the head is thick and lasting, the colour a shiny golden yellow.

All the obvious Hefe traits are present in the nose. Banana and yeast are in the foreground, while wheat is less pronounced but unmistakably there. A soft and gentle, rather sweet smell with only little sourness and the slightest bit of hops.

The taste manifests more wheat and does a real good job in fusing or layering hops and fruity flavors. The finish is rather hoppy and sour and develops into an aftertaste which intensifies the bitterness just a bit more. The result is that the beer leaves you with a rather astringent taste in your mouth and a bitterness that isn't all that pleasant. Maybe the hops in here aren't on par?

A thick and creamy moutfeel, somewhat low on carbonation. A bit too heavy all in all I would say (even though this does work well with the banana notes).

Pretty much a standard Weiße, but less vital than others and somewhat tiring.

Thick, creamy, off-white head is only average height be Hefe Weizen standards. Hazy, light absorbing golden beer shows streams of tiny bubbles around the outside. Banana yeasty aroma is almost matched by fresh spicy hops. The hops seem out of place, but don't ruin the beer. The body is fluffy, and fairly full, but the smoothness wears out as the finish is slightly bitter. Yeasty banana in the flavor, but also a good solid dose of earthy/grassy hops that are almost minty along with a pinch of slightly sour apricot. The bitter finish, and strong hop presence really throw me for a loop. Standard Hefe Weizen base, but definitely a bit of an experiment. It's kind of like they added extra hops for the long journey and this is a fresh example. I think the best way to describe it would be a hybrid Helles/Hefeweizen.
