Pours a clear amber with fluffy head.
Smell is malty with notes of smoked ham, brown bread and lemon peel with some spicy hints.
Taste is malty and a bit sweet with a subtle smokiness. Notes of smoked ham, pumpernickel, rye and citrus peel with a moderate bitterness. Extremely well balanced.
Mouthfeel is medium, smooth and well carbonated.
Overall, a terrific smoked beer, subtler than Schlenkerla and Spezial.

0.5l bottle into a Willi Becher.
Timid charcuterie nose along with notes of the sea and candied fruit.
Complex and subtle green taste, fresh leaves. Sun shining through the beech canopy. Vanilla custard, old wooden furniture. Chamomile, hint of orange candy. Finnishies with a tanic bite of unripe blackberries.
The smoothness is insane, and to a precise degree where it doesn't get overwhelming. Sort of like the best of soul records.

From the bottle, it pours a ruby amger with a moderate head, soon reducing to a hefty ring with islands of foam. Smoke gets in your nose (but not your eyes...) along with some malt. The mouth notes the smoke as well, along with a nice bit of malt. Yum!
