An amber beer style that was developed to celebrate the original Oktoberfest over 200 years ago. This full bodied beer with its rich malt flavor, dark toffee note and underlying fruitiness has a masterful hop balance.
The secrets behind Paulaner's excellent taste and unwavering quality are locally sourced ingredients and a tradition of craftsmanship that has been passed down and perfected by our dedicated brewmasters since 1634. Here in Munich, Paulaner beer is not a mere product -- It's a matter of the heart.

Appearance: Clear amber, fluffy off-white head with good retention.
Aroma: toasted malt, herbal and spicy hops.
Flavor & Aftertaste: Toasted bread, spicy hops, low to moderate bitterness. Low sweetness.
Mouth-feel: Full bodied, drying. clean and crisp finish with medium length finish. Slight bitterness lingers.
Overall: Exceptionally drinkable and satisfying Marzen. Beautiful amber colored pour, with a nice fluffy, off-white head that lingers. Aromas are toasted bread and spicy/herbal hops. Flavor is similar with a low sweetness and moderate to low bitterness. It looks like it could be somewhat sweet, heavy and filling but it is far from that. Drinks quite dry. Doesn't get much better than this in this style.

I count myself lucky to find this beer in my local shop. A full bodied, flavorful beer, Oktoberfest might quickly become one my go to’s. Malty and bready without being overly strong or yeasty. Would work very well with any kind of beef. This is one of those beers that just makes you happy to drink it!

(review from September 2017) Lighter & slightly more caramelly than some German Ofest but malty, smooth, refreshing & with a clean finish. Goes down fast & easy.

That's my pilsner right there, comfortable, great accent and taste of hops. It feels like a beer I would drink with my friends to enjoy the moment without getting distracted by the taste.

Pours a pale orange-yellow with a heavy fog to the translucency. Head is a couple fingers of white foam. Aroma is bread, biscuits, caramel, and spicy, grassy, and slight herbal hops. Malts are firm, but not dominate. Hops are a fresh pop across the top. Flavor profile is a touch more malt heavy than the nose. Spicy and grassy hops sit atop bread, biscuit, and toffee malts. Finishes on mostly malts. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. Texture is marked by a slightly fuzzy, soft consistency. Overall, not a bad Oktoberfest. Pretty clean drinking and easy going with just enough forward flavor to still be engaging.
