Had this at the Paulaner Im Tal in 05/09.
Arrived a pretty pale straw color (almost green?) that's definitely pretty hazy...but not weissbier level haze. There was a pretty nice 2" head, which made it look pretty nice and unique.
The smell was almost in perfect balance between malty and hoppy.
The taste was straight forward. Hoppier than a helles, but definitely not a pilsner. The clover honey lager flavors really came out with all of the yeast. Finish was bone dry with the hops.
I went through this pretty quickly and found that it did pretty well as a pairing with dessert or spaetzle. The hops are there, but not so bitter that they don't work well with certain foods.
If Im Tal wasn't so pricey (6 euros per 1/2L) I certainly would've ordered more of this. I believe this is also available at the Paulaner Keller as well, so that might be a better option.
Still - the beer's great. Definitely something I'll revisit on my next trip.
