If I were to describe to you one difference between this Baltic/Hanseatic Hell and a typical Bavarian Hell, I'd the latters have a softer mouth; possibly because the grains are less hearty than they have to be to get ripe in the North.
Other than that (and probably a few extra hops), Nordisch-Hell is consistent to style. Its foam hangs around nicely as lace on a golden bod. Smells are muted, mostly malt. Tastes are balanced, although the hops finish stronger than I prefer. Medium-mouthed and good bubbles to wash down my sandwich. Does its job; but subtle, complex enough for a "Prost !"
This is my second from Stortebeker, but I still went on their website and was impressed by their many video promos. So that advanced marketing technique must be because they are equidistant between Germany's two biggest cities (Berlin and Hamburg.) So this eight century brewer from the Hanseatic League must be quite good at sharing brewing history. I actually would like to try their Baltic porter.

Yields a glowing pale golden color with a bigger, stable head atop.
Aromas are defined by soft straw, dried garden herbs and coppery malts.
The mouthfeel of the beer is quite refreshing with a well developed carbonation level, and a light body, leading to a thirst quenching impression.
Tastes of dry, slightly spicy noble hops among bread dough and rustic grains, adding a solid complexity to the malt appearance in this. Develops a slightly more prominent hop dryness, which gets gently balanced by the beer‘s rustic malt backbone, exhibiting an additional note of honey. Finishes calm and crisp with just a faint glimpse of maintaining hops among a pleasantly softer turning, grain forward maltiness.
A well balanced, pleasantly light Helles, with just enough flavor complexity to convince.

From the bottle, it pours a slightly hazy light yellow color with a very nice white head that slowly reduces and leaves lacing. The nose gets some grass and spice. The mouth gets the same, with some unexpected bitterness, not overwhelming, just unexpected.
