From the half liter bottle, it pours a clear amber color with a modest head that diminishes to a thin layer, ring and lacing. The nose gets some modest spice, along with a nice malt scent. The mouth follows with a pleasant malty taste that sometimes seems syrupy, followed by a modest lingering malty aftertaste.

Only my third from Stortebeker, I'm starting to appreciate their craft in interpreting styles.
For example, I was expecting his Maibock to be amber, but it is pretty pale with a nice head and sufficient lace. All good. Then I was expecting mostly malt, but got a good dose of lager yeast and some dark season spice. Also good. Then I was expecting Tastes to follow, but the hops came on a bit strong in the finish for me. OK, but not as good. Decent bubbles, but a more syrupy Feel is better for these dark days.
I'm liking Stortebeker and will continue to buy their wares as long as I'm In Germany.
