Deep brown, almost mahogany color, with some ruby color around the edges. Small off-white head that disappeared quickly. Some lace on the glass at the end. Smells sort oof like some toasted nuts, perhaps almonds and even a hint of a roasted smell. Taste is rick, and somewhat sweet. Sort of a malt and brown sugar, combined with a nice nuttiness with a toasted flavor. Not much hop flavor or bitterness in here at all. Light to medium body, with low carbonation. Overall, a solid brown ale from Thirsty Dog. This is one of my favorites from this brewpub. Goes well IMO with fish and chips.

This is one of Thirsty Dog's better offerings. A very beautiful brew with the very rich look of deep mahogany, touches of ruby on the edges, a tan head, and good lacing. Tightly woven taste incorporates good malting and some toasty nuttiness. The aroma is a bit weak for the flavor; it has just a slight sense of smoke around the malt elements. Tasty, creamy, worthwhile. More porter like than many brown ales.

Dark brown with a nice thinbk head with decent retention. Pretty dark for a brown ale, edging on a Brown Porter.

Nice malt aroma with a nice nuttyness. Some good low esters. A nice roasty edge to it. Could be richer and stonger.

Flavor is rich and clean malt. Not much fruityness. A strong toffee flavor. A bit sweet and thick, but the little but of roasty chocolate character helps balance. A good beer, pretty roasty for the style, and a bit sweet, but well done.and drinkable.

Good lacing, thick head with a dark reddish-brown color. Sweet honey and brown sugar flavor. One of the better offerings at Thirsty Dog. I'm not sure how this would translate to a bottle but Nut Browns on draught at a Brewpub always seem more appealing, probably because they complement food so well.

A very traditional English brown. Very mild and nutty. Smooth and easy to drink, a good candidate for a session ale.
