At the brewpub in Dayton/Centerville. Pours a dark copper/orange color with a white foamy head. There was a decent amount of lacing on the glass. Smells slightly of citrusy hops. The taste is slightly toasted, biscuity, with some bitterness at the end, mainly citrus hops. While yes, this is an English IPA, it could have stood to be more bitter at the end. Seemed to be pretty balanced. Medium body, and pretty drinkable nevertheless. A decent offering, but certainly not the specialty of the house.

The appearance is of cloudy amber with a sufficient off-white head. Full of hops in the nose, the flavor follows the hops which are quite neutral and not tending either toward flower, herb or citrus dominance. The is a very full, bitter finish that seemed a bit rough around the edges. Some small balancing would probably improve this offering, but it decent nonetheless.

Good example of an English IPA. Decent throughout. Light malt and caramel aroma. Dry, biting hops accent it well. The finish was somewhat lacking and the hops really tapered off. Still not too bad though.

Presented as a traditional English IPA. Substantial hops, with a firm body. Hops were pretty neutral, with no floral or citric qualities, pretty typical for a strict interpretation of an English IPA. Bittering was a little blunt at the finish, but overall and very pleasant and drinkable IPA.
