Foggy prune juice brown-ish red with no head.
Taste is neutral toasty oak and dark fruit, and the brandy is apparent but not hot. Dry and ashy towards the end, the slick fluid middle on second visit brings up burnt orange peel in the tingly carbonation. The body is a little thin.
Brandy put a beating on Wulver.

On tap at The Beer Market in Henrietta, NY.
This one pours a reddish brown color, with a small head, and no lacing.
Smells like Brandy soaked (drenched) prunes and raisins, toffee, and caramel.
This is pretty damn good, but lacks the balance and wonderment of the original Wulver. The sweet Brandy character messes with the impeccable balance of the base- there's lots more dark fruit here now, raisins and prunes and maybe a little bit of cherry, and the classic toffee and caramel I come to expect from this beer. It's a little too sweet but not overwhelmingly so.
This is medium bodied, fairly rich and a little creamy, with a lower level of carbonation.
Thirsty Dog continues to flex their muscles here- great stuff- but doesn't approach how amazing regular Wulver is.
