During a recent foray to The Beer & Beverage Shoppe, I spotted this Bottle (gasp!) as a single-o & decided to give it a shot out of curiosity.
From the Bottle: "97.5 WONE The Home of Rock & Roll!"; "Deep golden ale brewed with aromatic and flavorful American Cascade and Mosaic hops. A very sessionable American Ale. IBU's [sic] = 16".
I Pop!ped the cap in preparation for a C-Line pour which resulted in the formation of just better than a finger of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with decent retention that left nice lacing in its wake. Color was Amber to Deep Amber/Light Copper (SRM = > 9, < 13) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was less hoppy than malty, but it was not sweet, either. Instead, it had a toffee-like sharpness. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was very much of caramel and toffee, but not what I would expect from an APA. I have to agree with earlier reviewers in that this was more like an English Pale Ale. Finish was semi-sweet with a nuttiness that began to accompany the already-noted caramel & toffee flavors. It was okay & interesting, but I consider it a one & done. YMMV.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a bronze color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, some apples. Taste is malty, nutty, a touch of hops, very refreshing. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer. As far as style, I don't think it's an APA. I would go with English Pale Ale or maybe American Brown Ale.

I enjoyed this from the bottle in a mug chilled.
Purchased from Als Pizza and subs in Summerdale
The color is deep amber clear with thick white head. The smell is fruity with malty aroma of caramel with slight dried fruit scent.
The feel is mild yet has slightly sweet texture with medium high carbonation and bitterness with mostly dry finish.
The taste has a good flavor of malt with slightly mild yet fruity yeast with caramel sweetness and mildly toasted malt flavors with slightly creamy aspect of yeast mixed with medium high carbonation and light woody hop flavor in the finish which as a gentle raisin -like element and nutty finish.
Overall this is good but described as a golden ale, either way it has malt dominance yet nice yeast cohesion with mild English hop presence -worth a try

Rockweiler brewed by Thirsty Dog Brewing Company, with an ABV of 4.50% This American Pale Ale pours out deep golden amber color with a small white head. Really digging the color of this brew. Nice spotty lacing to this brew, it does stick to the side of the glass well. The smell is rich with malt and grain sweetness. You also pick up some mild hop bitterness in the smell as well. So far this is one inviting brew, now for the taste, it is bold with flavors. You pick up a nice amount of sweet smooth malts and grains. Then a slight hop bite at the end. The body of Rockweiler is a solid medium. This is a more milder American Pale Ale, on the market, not saying that is a bad thing. There is nothing overpowering about this American Pale Ale, it has a super nice balance to it. I can't get over how smooth this brew goes down, it would go good with a meal. The mouth feel is Bold, Sweet, Clean, Smooth and Refreshing. Overall I'm giving Rockweiler a 4.25 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again giving the opportunity to. Thirsty Dog Brewing Company, did a real job with this American Pale Ale.

Rockweiler | Thirsty Dog Brewing Company. Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, the head's two fingers thick and off-white, with spotty lacing, and a deep golden body.
I smell mellow hops and bright grains.
I taste a similar thing going on here with a clean finish.
Medium-light mouthfeel with mild carbonation.
I'll rate Rockweiler | Thirsty Dog Brewing Company with a 4.25. I could see why this is toted as a very sessionable American ale.
