12 oz. bottle served in a pint glass.

This beer pours black-brown, sits opaque in the glass, and is topped with a short tan head that leaves little lacing.

Aroma: dark roasted malt and dark chocolate with a false(?) suggestion of some burnt grains

Flavor: dark roasted but not burnt grains, dark chocolate, faint dark dried fruits and a touch of black coffee in the finish.

Mouthfeel: smooth, medium-full body

Dark brown color, little head that fades to nothing. Char, chocolate, burnt roast and subtle hints of vanilla. Little carbonation. Medium mouthfeel with a somewhat watery finish. Not sure if I can tell the difference between the imperial version and the regular vision. Decent but wouldn't seek out.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This solid little brew pours a nice
dark lightly murky cola brown color with a nice head of off white foam that
settles to a thick ring, thin light pool, and showcases some nice sudsy lacing.
Nose of roasted malts, touches of chocolate, hints of char, and hints of vanilla
and light coffee. Flavors lightly exceed the nose with touches of coffee and
medium notes of dark lightly bitter bakers chocolate mingling with a medium
char note and a touch of vanilla mingling with cola notes. Very good mouth feel;
medium body, medium light carbonation, and a nice roasted malt finish with no
noticeable alcohol for being an 8 percent brew.

Overall, a lightly more robust version of the standard, but just ever so lightly robust.

Nice

Cheers

12 Fl. Oz. bottle
Served in a snifter

This beer pours black and is topped with less than an inch of tan head that leaves very little lacing.

The smell is roasted malt and dark chocolate.

The taste is roasted malt, dark chocolate, and a little black coffee in the finish.

Medium to full mouthfeel

This is a solid porter. It is good in its simplicity.

I was definitely in the mood for a big porter. This fits the bill perfectly.

It pours nearly black with nice lacing. The aroma is nice and roasty malts. The taste is a medium bodied porter, with plenty of those roasty malts, but not overly so. Well balanced. The sits really nicely too,

I don't know if this is something I can get again, but if so, I will grab some.

Highly recommended.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours almost black with a bubbly khaki head that fades leaving solid bubbly retention and nice lacing. The aromas are on the mild and subtle side. Some chocolate and vanilla. Malts are there. The flavors follow the nose. More chocolate along with some hints of vanilla. Some chocolate syrup in the finish. Moderate bitterness. Malts do their thing. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's smooth and easy to drink.

This is a solid porter. It's a clean brew. It doesn't really drink big or like an "imperial", for what it's worth.
