Tasted this last night at D'z Six Pack and Dogz never did I realize that this beer was 10% alcohol while drinking it. Came of sharply sweet with hints of cherry/dark fruit/apple notes and a nice depth of spicy Belgian yeast. No booze at all it was well hidden I'm shocked to see the 10% abv listing, that's pretty amazing. On tap it was thirst quenching alcoholic Belgian style dubbel that drank like a dark wheat beer. Estery tones with a bit of caramel malts and dark fruits combined for a pleasant drinking experience. Mouthfeel had some sugar to it but wasn't overly cloying in anyway. Great locally brewed Ohio version that may cause you to have to enter rehab when you figure out how much alcohol this beer has. Drinkability dangerous flavor wise for a dubbel wasn't dead on but it was damn tasty and a beer that will revisit sometime soon.

On tap @ the first ever Fatheads Brewer's Brawl. Had a few pours of this and really enjoyed it. It came off as a kicked-up version of Orthus, another Thirsty Dog beer I really like for it's smoothness. Orthus uses several (7) kinds of grain and I think this features similar depth as well, it has a great chocolate roast and lots of depth. Trappist yeast for fermentation leaves fruity impressions.

Poured a brown with a nice head and a touch of lacing.

Smells of brown sugar, a touch of chocolate malt, and a bubblegum/banana nose.

Taste was really nice, good amount of depth in the malt bill. Dark Belgian candy, nice yeasty presence giving a fruity bubblegum taste, a touch of spiciness (clove?), and some chocolate malt. Alcohol is well hidden for a 10% big daddy.

Mouthfeel was fine, nothing extraordinarily special but nothing off. Appropriate visco and carb. Medium to thick bodied for a dubbel.

Drinkability was great for a 10%. A great one-off, festival beer! Maybe it'll make an appearance in bottles sometime (hint, hint Thirsty Dog, I'd buy a few 22's)!
