Had lunch and a few beers here with my family. Food was quite good, service was pretty prompt, everyone spoke English well, English menus. Beer was OK, not great or interesting, but not bad. I'd recommend it for the food. We sat outside under tents, which is nice, but I have no idea what the interior looks like. So, it seemed to me like a standard tourist restaurant-in-a-square.

Went here on our last night in Poznan, I believe it was July 20th. Service was prompt, but a bit pushy so it felt like we were rushed even though it was a normal amount of traffic. They spoke English and had English menus, it definitely makes sense since it seems like a lot of tourists would go here. Food was pretty decent but the portions were small, not overly expensive. The beer was OK, nothing to really brag about, but it was cool being able to drink something other than a Euro lager in Poland. My favorite was the Miodowe, which means "with honey" or "honey flavored" in Polish, and was basically an Oktoberfest-type beer. Would recommend if you are in Poznan and want to drink some beers in the Stary Rynek (old square).

One needs no other reason to visit Pozan, then Brovaria. Located in the heart of the Old Market Square, Brovaria provides a great place to stay within its boutique hotel. The clean and comfortable rooms have the best view of the city square and all its happenings. The Pub provides house brews, great quality and value with the only complaint being the selection seems to be limited to 3 (light, dark, and seasonal).
The Shinning star of this establishment is its restaurant. The chefs at Brovaria provide amazing dishes using traditional regional Polish ingredients while preparing and presenting them with contemporary global flair. Each and every dish stands strong on its own and goes above and beyond when paired with its beer mate. The Prunes with Bacon is a must have starter, as is any dish which highlights mushrooms. The seasonal lamb and duck items are also a must try. One could easily spend the weekend here and enjoy all five of their meals here, and be evermore impressed with each passing plate. I know I did, and was.

Fairly new and located on the old town square in the pedestrian zone. They make a Pils, a Honey Lager and occasionally have a seasonal. This region is the heart of lager brewing country and so every offering is malty and clean. The beers are more interesting that the regional "industrial" brews widely available there. They are unfiltered and served well chilled, but not too cold. The last time I had the pils it was quite yeasty, sulfury with an assertive hop bitterness. The food is quite good, try the rabbit with truffle (if it is on the menu). They have English menus on request and most young people in Poland know at least some Engish, so you can get along knowing "pivo" (beer). The prices are real good (at least for a westerner) but are probably high for a local, I spent 50 zloty for a great meal and 3 beers, including a good tip. That's less than US$17, but I'm told would feel like $50 to a local.
