Tasted by 350ml at the AsiaWorld branch of Le Ble d'Or, Taipei; served by a growler.
A: coming in a murky dark golden to light amber hue, completely unfiltered, I presume. The white beer head is frothy and thick at first, then slowly dissipating to a rim sitting on top of a constantly mildly-carbonated body.
S: the aroma comes rather faint at first, due to a lower-than-necessary serving temp.; gradually, a light flow of floral and apple-ish scent underlines a rather soothing, sour-sweet tinge of yeastiness and grainy malts. Very little hops is detected.
T: lightly-sweet grainy malts and mildly doughy lager-ness and yeastiness abound, leading towards a semi-dry mouthfeel and a very faint touch of hop bitterness. As it warms up a bit, the flavour shows a slightly more pronounced edge of powdery grains, yet the hoppiness is still in the lacking.
M&D: softly carbonated and light bodied, vis-a-vis a soothing but feather-light flavour profile. From the taste I think this unfiltered, Helles-like lager IS pasteurised, though, hence a very weak taste against the body. That said, when served not this chilled, this lager could be more enjoyable and drinkable as a lightly grainy and hop-free drink.
