This beer was black like every stout should be. It had a nice head that lasted throughout. It smelled pretty good. At first, I really like the taste. But as the drink wore on it became apparent the beer was way too sweet. The cherry sweetness overpowered the stout taste and that just should not be. The beer was watery and thin in the finish. So this starts good and goes downhill.

Served on-tap at a Flyers game. Color reminiscent of black cherry cola. Rich black with red hints. Small tan head that dissipates quickly. Faint aroma of cherries and burnt coffee. Flavors of roasted and caramel malts are accompanied by a wonderfully subtle cherry taste. The cherry is used quite well... just enough to detect it's presence, but not too much that it is cloyingly sweet or overpowering. Finished with a lingering bitterness. Very well balanced. Mouthfeel seemed a little on the thin side.

Opaque. Brown/ruby highlights. The very nice 1/4" cushiony tan head looks like Guinness. (A sparkler isn't used, but my guess is that this beer is carbonated and run under mixed gas). There's very little aroma with just a swirl of fruit. The mouthfeel is exceptionally creamy. The flavor starts with a nice, slightly tart fruitiness on the tip of the tongue, glides into a softly dark malt flavor at the middle, and finishes with a dry, gentle bitterness that lasts. What makes this beer work is that although it's a black cherry stout, it's been kept very subdued. There's nothing wild here, just a touch of fruitiness that works in the same way that the Guinness tartness does. The level of roastiness is very, very low and the bitterness is limited. Combined with the smoothness of the pour and the remaining malt body it has a very rounded character. An extremely nice session beer.

Had this at a Flyers game. Dark brown, but still seemed to lack some body. The head quickly vanished. Dark and roasty in taste, but lacking some mouthfeel and spritz. Slight taste of cherry was pleasant. More like a porter than a stout.

Black brew , but it looks very thin. No head at all... and undercarbonated. Slight scent of cherry and malt. Taste of cherry, roasted malt, and caramel with a bitter finish. Not smooth at all.. more porterish than like a stout.
