positively not a flanders red, at least not one of any quality, so i think that listing is incorrect. i dont hate the beer though, and think it represents a substantial leap in terms of style and ambition for these guys. its pink to red in color, very clear, not much head, like a darker glass of rose wine. it smells nice, really really raspberry driven with just a tickle of quick lactic souring acidity, not much grain or yeast to speak of otherwise. the flavor is good, its raspberry all the way, true, jammy, sweet, tangy, its right on for the fruit, but there isnt enough beer behind it for me, this could be juice. part of that is that its so thin and under carbonated, but i do like the tang brought on by the souring. its not a major pucker, and its not a gut rotter, its pretty easy going, sort of with a berliner flavor to it, minus the wheat. in general this is a good beer, i think it needs some work to be up there with the best in the state, but its very tasty on the raspberry front, and i think its great these guys arent just going to make average amber and pale ale forever. good for them! im sure they will get better too. on tap at lucky pie downtown.

L: Slightly Cloudy dark brown red, with a small white head, and some sticky lacing on the glass.
S: Tart and yeasty, raspberries and cherry with an earthy malt.
T: Tart and sweet, yeast, raspberries, and some earthy malt.
F: Higher carbonation and lighter body.
O: A very nice interpretation of a framboise.

The Sour Beer Project (Small Batch)
Poured into a chalice a very nice reddish/brownish color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice small foamy/creamy off-white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, tart, yeasty, with some dark cherries, raspberries. The taste is very nice malty, tart, yeasty, cherries, raspberries. Medium body, nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, this one surprised me, pretty nice. If they do more of this series, I will buy them.
