Appearance: Poured a deep opaque brown with copper highlights.
Aroma: Sweet with some fruit. Otherwise, not too much aroma.
Taste: Deep and rich with chocolate and sweet malt. There was a hint of fruit -- maybe cherry (after all, Michigan is cherry country). An unsweetened chocolate bitterness lingered on the tongue.
Mouthfeel: Thick and full. Nice level of carbonation.
Overall: This was a fun beer to drink. I'd call it a good example of the style. The hint of cherry was unexpected but good.
