The Juellinge woman was buried in the Iron Age about 2000 years ago on Lolland. She was buried with many fine grave goods, including a Roman bronze cauldron filled with beer.
The beer was brewed with barley malt, spiced with port and cranberries.

Copehagen 3/3 2023. 50 cl bottle from Craft Makers Collective web-shop. Orange version of Skands usual design for these modern takes on very old fashioned beers.
Pours unclear orange amber with a mid-sized white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, flimsy layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, fruity odor mingling with a fermented scent of decay Herbal notes. Fermented sweet peach and plums. Fermented, Sour grains and tart berries.
Rather strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lively and tingling texture. A bit fizzy.
Flavor is fairly intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger tart sourness. Aftertaste is tart and a bit harsh. Lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.
Fruity take on a pot of beer from Medieval times.
