Pioneer is built on a well-composed grain bill with on-target Saaz bittering. It is clear, pale straw with a fresh and vibrant flavor suggesting a traditional recipe. The pungent wet grass aroma is welcoming.
Despite the fresh flavor, my pint showed absolutely no head, lace, or carbonation. None. Instead, the beer sat sullenly in the glass, its lack of vigor detracting from its potential.
