Appearance - 3.5
Dark brown, thin beige head.
Smell - 2.0
Lots of honey, sweet, very buttery.
Taste - 1.5
Rich, sweet and unbalanced. Infected with an off-buttery taste.
Mouthfeel - 2.5
Somewhat slick and oily in the mouth.
Drinkability - 1.0
Pretty much undrinkable for me.
OVERALL - 2.1
I've tried not to be too harsh with the scoring, as the beer is not usually so buttery. Even at its best, it is a beer that needs some hops, or a lot more alcohol for balance. Actually a weaker version of their strong scottish ale with added honey.
