Appearance - Red, one finger of head which reduced.
Smell - Quite strong and passionfruity.
Taste - Strong and very bitter, with passionfruit and lemon flavours.
Mouthfeel - The excessive bitterness makes for a disappointing aftertaste.
Drinkability - Rather challenging in this field.
Overall - Most hopheads will like this beer very much. Unfortunately, I am not a hophead, although I do appreciate the fruity character hidden behind the bitterness.

Appearance - 4.5
Poured a finger and a half of rocky, cream coloured head that quickly reduced in patches, leaving a thin, bubbly layer. The body is a clear, deep amber, very attractive.
Smell - 4.5
A strong, fruity, hoppy, malty aroma. There is a prominent orange and malt sweetness and lots of citrusy hops. Powerful but smooth.
Taste - 4.0
Pwoah! A this point, this is the bitterest beer I have ever tasted (I think it is 60-odd IBUs). Malty sweetness with a bit of orange upfront, noticeable alcohol, and a strong hop bitterness in the dry finish. The aftertaste is complex, bitter and has a biscuit like character.
Mouthfeel - 4.0
Goes down smoothly despite the strength. Lovely, almost creamy carbonation, it feel somewhat syrupy, and quite heavy in the mouth.
Drinkability - 3.0
This is not a sipper, as the alcohol is well hidden behind the intense flavours. It is too strong to session with, and in the end, the bitterness became a bit too much for me.
OVERALL - 4.1
This beer is a little too bitter for my liking, but that didn't stop me from enjoying this 330mL serving immensely. The first time I tried this, my first thought was of LCPA on steroids, but it is actually quite different, with a lot more malt and less fruitiness. I was lucky to get one of the last 6-packs of Dr Quick, as Colonial no longer make it. A pity there are so few reviews, as this is an excellent beer.

Pours an attractive amber, with an off-white tight head,
Strong hop aromas, tobacco leaf, some citrus.
Wild vegetal, fruity flavours, spicy.... like mustard seed or cress, with a macadamia-like nutty aftertaste... fascinating.
Nice medium/full malt body. Seems to me to be a slight spicy heat in the beer, although that could be my imagination.
Excellent beer.

Appears an orange-amber colour, with a medium beige creamy head. Good head retention and some lacing. The aroma is honeyish, sweet and fruity. Toasty, caramelly malt flavours are balanced by fresh citrusy hops. The flavour is rich, fruity and malty at the front, with some orange, caramel, toffee and vanilla flavours. Some leafy, citrusy hops then give way to a drier, moderate bitter finish. A bit of alcohol in the finish. Medium body with a smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation. Good beer from the Champion Small Brewery of the 2006 Australian International Beer Awards.
