I had this on the hand pump cask tonight with my dinner of chicken pasta in a cream sauce. Very orange looking with peach colors of the sides. Small head that faded really quickly. Very clear as well. I got a lot of grassy/herbal flavors in the nose along with some medicinal aspects. I liked the smell. Flavor was not as good as the smell. The hops were bitter but not that bitter and they were lacking that alpha acid hit I was expecting. I know this beer is brewed with English hops so there shouldn't be much acidity but the flavors were kind of dull. Malts seemed to be lacking and the body was a bit on the weak side. Decently balanced in the end though because no flavor really came out too much. I think this is more of an English IPA but chose esb b/c of the name. This one's ok but it wasn't enough to hold up to my food.
