On-tap at the brewery's Wilderness Pub. This the second time this beer has been on the pub's "Brewmaster's Special" list.
Saison arrived with a cloudy peach hue. The beer was drawn within a 1/4" of the rim, so there wasn't much headroom. The head that was there was small and tight, with an eggshell tint. It fell to a thin film and left decent lacing.
Round two with this beer was better than round one. This batch had a nice lemon sourdough aroma out front, plus healthy doses of coriander, straw and cut grass. In the mouth, a pear and green grape sweetness comes through. Bitterness is well balanced and carries a pepper and grass theme. The alcohol is well masked in the flavor, but adds a nice warmth going down. The grainy body has nice density, without being to thick. The carbonation could stand a little extra vigor.
Overall, this is a very nice offering from Boulder. They've been toying with Belgian styles quite a bit lately. Perhaps some new beers are headed into their lineup?

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
