Taste: Dry and tart with some earthy funkiness and a bit of fruitiness in the finish.
Feel: Light, fairly effervescent.

Overall: Cultivate is a pretty dry saison, even within a style that is known for dryness. The rhubarb supplies the tartness and a bit of fruitiness in the finish, while there seems to be some earthy "funky" notes possibly associated with the yeast. A refreshing saison that's worth a try, though it didn't particularly stand out to me.

On tap at Surly’s Beer Hall. 16 oz. serving in a chalice.

Appearance: Color is a bright golden orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and about a finger of white head that settles into a thin patchy layer.

Smell: A spicy and fruity Belgian style aroma with a scent of spices, rhubarb, and citrus. Belgian yeast with hints of clove, peppers, and farmhouse funk. Malt hints of grains, straw, oats, and cracker. Good hints of rhubarb along with some bubblegum. Also some fruit hints of lemon, orange, banana, and apricot. Subtle hints of earthy and spicy hops. A very nice aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a spicy and fruity Belgian farmhouse style taste with notes of rhubarb, spices, and citrus. Belgian yeast with notes of pepper, clove, and farmhouse funk. Pale malt with notes of straw, grains, oats, and cracker. Lots of bubblegum. Good notes of rhubarb along with other fruit notes of banana, lemon, apricot, and orange. Also some spicy and earthy hops. A pretty good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy, spicy, and pretty smooth.

Overall: A pretty good twist on a Saison. The rhubarb adds a nice tart kick without overwhelming the more subtle Belgian style notes.
