Sessionable Gose-style beer. Made with cranberry purée. Tart, refreshing flavor profile with a slight saltiness.

Batch 2. Light and refreshing. Not very tart. Easy drinking.

at the beer hall, into a tulip
pours a reddish pink with some bubbles and haze and a finger of head that subsides after a minute. Nose is promising but moderate and even a little muddled to me: I can get some tart cranberry and some sea salt, but that's about it. Taste is better...this is very nice. Pretty salty and that pairs well with the cranberry, which is fairly juicy and somewhere nice in between tart and sweet...nice presence of crackery grain too. Well carbonated, a little crisp. Nice job Surly...which this wasn't a one time deal!

On tap at Surly’s Beer Hall. Served in a 16 oz. chalice.
Appearance: Color is a hazy reddish orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and about two fingers of white head with decent retention.
Smell: A sweet, juicy, and moderately sour aroma with a scent of cranberries and grains. Upfront scent of cranberry juice along with some hints of sour and funky yeast. Malt hints of grains, biscuit, and cracker. Sweet hints of sugar. Also some subtle hints of sea salt. A pretty solid aroma.
Taste: Like it smells, a sweet, fruity, and sour taste with big notes of cranberries and grains. Big upfront presence of sweet and tart cranberries. Funky yeast presence. Bready malt notes of biscuit, grains, and cracker. Some notes of sugar sweetness and sea salt as well. A pretty nice taste.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Very juicy and smooth.
Overall: A pretty solid twist on a Gose. The cranberry fruit presence is big and the sour notes are fairly subtle.

Cranberry gose...
A - dark pink with a fizzy bit of carb on top
S - berries, sulfur, biscuit, sweet
T - the cranberry addition is obvious here... tart red fruit, bready sweetness, clean finish
I could quaf this stuff all day long.
