Beige head. Lots of lace. Bronze gold amber color.

This beer would be great if it was less malty. Biscuity bready malts. The grapefruit citrus and floral hops are awesome.

Bitter and sticky. Just a tad too malty for my liking.

On tap at Surly’s Beer Hall. Served in a 16 oz. chalice.

Appearance: Pours a deep amber orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. About a finger of off white head with decent retention.

Smell: A very dank and juicy hop forward aroma with a scent of citrus and pine. Citrus hop scent of grapefruit, orange peel, mango, pineapple, and melon. Earthy hop hints of pine resin and cannabis. Pale malt with hints of caramel, biscuit, and yeast. A really good juicy aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a very juicy and dank hop driven taste with notes of citrus and pine. Citrus hop notes of grapefruit, mango, orange peel, melon, and pineapple. Earthy and herbal hops with notes of pine resin and grass. Pale malt with notes of caramel, biscuit, cracker, and yeast. A really good taste.

Mouthfeel: Body is on the fuller side of medium. Moderate carbonation. Juicy, oily, and drying.

Overall: A really good Pale Ale. Big West Coast style juicy and piney hop flavor. Its like a smaller version of Todd The Axe Man.

On tap at the brewery
A-copper golden color with a slight haze. Slight off white head that laces the glass nicely.
S-damn aromatic. A definite citra presence with dank tropical fruit. A grassy aroma on the backend. Nice bready malt quality
T-hop up front with a bready malt middle and a slightly bitter grassy melon finish.
M-moderate carbonation with a very rich body for a 5.4% ABV brew. Tingly carbonation a finishes dry with a bit of bitterness
O-this is very good. Haven't been this impressed from Surly since Axeman came out. A flavorful session able hop heavy pale ale. Excellent. This one could stick around like Todd has. Would be surprised if it didn't.
