On tap at Brew Hall. This is my second Hopshifter (I had the Chinook previously) and this one is similar in the malt department and in terms of being a lighter IPA. The aroma and taste has some noble hop notes (as the single hop Polaris is a new German varietal), but also has some citrus and tropical complexities, with a focus on tangerine. I think I like this one even more than the Chinook.

On tap at Surly’s Beer Hall. Served in a 16 oz. chalice.

Appearance: Color is a bright and clear golden orange. Solid finger of white head which slowly settles into a thin patchy layer.

Smell: A very dank and juicy hop forward aroma with a scent of citrus and pine. Upfront tropical fruit hop scent of orange peel, grapefruit, pineapple, lemon, mango, tangerine, and apricot. Earthy hop scent of pine resin and cannabis. Malt hints of caramel, grains, and cracker with yeast. A very nice juicy aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a juicy and earthy hop driven taste with notes of citrus fruit and pine. Big juicy hop presence with tropical notes of orange peel, pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, mango, lemon, and apricot. Earthy hop notes of pine resin and grass. Background malt notes of caramel, cracker, and grains along with some yeast. A very good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Very juicy and oily with a drying finish.

Overall: Another great IPA in this series. Probably the dankest yet.
