Don't think I've ever had saphir hops before, so here's to the new and experimental. At the beer hall, into a tulip, pours a glowing and slightly hazy rich apricot, with a 1 finger off white head and good retention. Nose brings it...big citrus (tangerine) and fleshy apricot and juicy fresh melon...some light bready malts, though this is all about the hops. Taste comes in two waves: first is fresh fruit and clean breadiness, and then there's some stickier sweetness coupled with some faint spicy pepper as it transitions to some more green and floral notes as well as an almost honeyed fruitiness that is still light and fresh but is still a little sticky. Carb is middling and feel is substantial but light.
