12 ounce can into IPA glass, canned on 12/26/2019. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 2-3 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing and moderate streaming carbonation on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, mango, melon, passion fruit, pineapple, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, wheat, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Balanced creamy/bready malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Nicely soft feel, and not overly aggressive. Awesome Citra and Simcoe profile. Very juicy, dank, and fairly vibrant hops; with a nice malt backbone for the 5.5% ABV. Minimal warmth or hop burn after the finish. Refreshingly smooth. Held up amazing for the age of the can, loved the hop profile as expected. No complaints. This was a great hazy pale ale.

Review from notes
This was lighter than I thought and maltier than I'd have thought... shocking from surly - the brewery I associate with brash and over-the-top hoppy beers......

A: Hazy pale tangerine color has a strong sense of carbonation. Huge, stone white head with a soapy foam consistency that stands three inches tall. Spotty, spacious lace patches. The haziness factor was a dim contributor at best.
S: Peaches and pine resins on the nose with some sugary grapefruit. Tropical notes of pineapple are backed with some grain juice sweetness. Good strength delivery with fresh barley grains as a backing that is crisp and dry.
T: Fresh pineapple and peaches for flavor is quickly followed by a burst of sticky pine-citrus resins. Tart oranges and dry barley mix well with some stalky hop vines.
M: Medium build, lots of crisp carbonation, a fizzy and foamy hold on the tongue from the co2 activity. Tarty, lightly dry with a light grainy dusting.
O: Overall an good everyday drinking ipa. Packs a fair amount of ibus for backyard gatherings. Its not rocket science, but a decent everyday ipa drinker. Per style and other examples from brewery, it falls short in comparison and seems to be just a place holder/new beer to try.

10/17/20... clear light gold, foam,y, top resting at a thin layer eroded at the center. Citrus forward nose. Simple and open. Juicy lemon and citrus fruit burst. Slight tart. Subtle bitter holds all in check. Wow, really good.

NE pale ale? Session NEIPA? Whatever, it's lower strength at 5.5% and damn tasty. Haze is light, if you care about that. Mildly dry bitter finish, not as thick as many NEIPAs. Still satisfying, just more drinkable. Plenty of fruit up front with fresh mango leading followed by a dusting of floral herbal hoppiness.

12oz can into a pint glass. Canned 6/9/20, so almost 4 months old.
Looks good in the glass. Actual hazy rather than murky yellow body, with a few tinges of orange. Small white head shrinks to a ring, no lacing.
Slightly floral aroma with a hint of lemon.
On tasting, hop profile is diminished, but still present. A touch of lemon, and a little sweetness.
Mouth is just about medium, finish is dry, but also makes the mouth water.
Overall, even with a bit of age on it, still an okay drink.

It is ok, refreshing, very drinkable. Nothing really particular about it, not very happy, no other prominent flavor.
