Pours opaque dark brown with a dark khaki head. Good lacing and legs.
Aromas of chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. A touch of booze. Bold and simple but solid.
The brew is very sweet. Hits the tip of the tongue with brown sugar and toasted malts. The mid-quaff is full, round, and blessed with plenty of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, lactose, and roasted grain. The finish is a bit boozy, but not overwhelmingly so.
I understand I need to rate this to the declared pastry-sweet style, but a bit more genuine aroma and carbonation would have blessed this brew a bit more. Still another solid Surly brew.

Surly Salted Dark Chocolate Funeral Bar Imperial Stout, 10.1% ABV. Pours dark brown with a thumb of brown foamy head that left decent lacing. Nose is chocolate. Taste is slightly sweet chocolate, salt, and lactose. Salt aftertaste. Decent mouthfeel, overall excellent to near outstanding. This is not quite as good as the Tiramisu variant though.

I am guessing this is the first in surly's line of pastry stouts. Dark black color. Fairly thick. The salted caramel is awesome. Not overly sweet. A lot of chocolate.
