A big thanks to Jeff for this one. 750ml waxed and capped bottle into a Brooklyn Brewery snifter.
Orange peel is apparent on the nose. I get hints of chocolate, brownie, cocoa powder, and liquorice also. Robust and deep and hugely aromatic. Beer opens chocolate, orange, liquorice, roasted malt and sweet cream. Super robust on the palate. Lactose ,and vanilla in the middle with more chocolate, orange, and milk at the finish. Sweet chocolate in the aftertaste. Body is full with low carbonation. Rich and slick on the palate and goes down smooth and viscous with a lingering, sticky aftertaste. Great for the style.
I don't know that this combination of flavors works for me here but it's not bad and the orange really shines through in all aspects here.
