16oz can
Found a single in the back of thee store. Smell and Taste is all pine, taste's very oily but not a lot of bitter abrasiveness, like "My First DIPA" or something... where is Todd when you need him? Oh yeah, he's killing it across town, while Surly spits out this...?!
Good hobo swill, not a good DIPA

Decent! Not particularly note worthy but certainly drinkable as a little above average.

And The Devil Makes Three from Surly Brewing. Purchased on 5 Aug 21 from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. $ 5.00 (Including tax) per 16 oz can ($0.313 /oz). In the reefer at the store, stored at home at 42 degrees. Reviewed 14/8/21. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Stamped on bottom of can “CANNED ON 04/21/21”. Served at 45.1 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 49.2 degrees.
Appearance – 3.
First pour – Straw (SRM 3), clear.
Body – Pale Gold (SRM 4), hazily opaque. When rear-lite, translucent.
Head – Large (Maximum six cm, aggressive center pour), white, high density but rapidly breaking into low density froth, fair retention, diminishing to an undulating six to fourteen mm crown and a rocky partial cap. Second pour produces a tight 1.5 cm head.
Lacing – Fair. Narrow partial rings of small to medium bubbles, connected by narrow columns.
Aroma – 3 – Some pineapple, weak malt, no yeast.
Flavor – 3 – Begins moderately bitter and slightly pineapple citrusy with some resin and malt. No yeast. No ethanol (10.6 % ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. Gastric warming initially, but it begins to smolder. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 3 – Medium, approaching creamy, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3 Very unremarkable triple dry-hopped triple IPA, moderately bitter with weak aroma and flavor, although the alcohol is well hidden. One and done.

Look: It pours golden and has good clarity. It has a white head with good head retention.
Smell: It has aromas of pine and citrus. In addition there are some medium low pineapple. There are light notes of grainy sweetness in the background.
Taste: The flavors feature apricot up front with citrus and pine. There are background notes of pineapple, resinous features, and alcohol.
Feel: It has a medium body with strong hop bitterness. However, the hop bitterness is not sharp or grassy. The alcohol warming is noticeable, but not hot.
Overall, a good combination of hops with a pretty neutral malt bill to high light the flavors and bitterness.

Pours a chill haze gloden color with orange hues. Thumb sized white head leaves only sparse lace.
Aroma is sweet malts, deep dank citrus notes with pine mingled in. Some boozy hints.
Taste is like the nose big body loads of major sweetness and deep citrus notes mingled with resin sticky pine mingle thru the rich boozy malt base to make for an enjoyable big ass beer. Not your sisters little fruity hazy that might not even be bitter. This is an old fashioned big boy of a beer, that you know is kicking your ass.
Mouthfeel is a big medium, fairly mellow carbonation.
Overall I like this one brings back memories.

Shiny copper penny colored with a fingernail of frothy off white around the rim. The aroma is of tangerine. I’m tasting intense tangerine, crackery malt, and a touch of alcohol. The mouth is very resinous and dry.

16oz can poured into a tulip
A- pours a slightly hazy orange-yellow with a one-finger foamy white head that quickly reduces to a ring
S- grapefruit peel, resinous pine, some leafy green aromas, doughy malt undertones
T- citrus forward up front with notes of pithy orange, followed by some zesty grapefruit notes. Mid-palate gives some bitter piney notes as well as some peppery notes. The finish gives more citrus zest with a bready malt undertone, bitter resinous linger
M- medium-heavy body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that turns into a creamy, slightly warming finish

Outstanding triple/Imperial IPA in the west-coast style! Resinous citrus-hoppy with the trademark drying mouthfeel craved by those with elevated tastes! Does not drink like a 10.6% beverage...Well-done Surly! Delicious!!!!

Pours a fairly clear bright gold with a large short lived white head. Spotty lacing. Aroma is a mix of tropical and citrus fruits. Flavor follows the nose, sweet up front with a nice hop bite in the finish. Feel is medium bodied and adequately carbonated. Overall a better beer than the previous reviews would suggest (IMHO). Big ABV is not hidden, sipper.
