I didn't know how to respond to the previous individual's comment...love the beet but also came here to say that "lactose" is not a f*cking aroma bro

Can.
White head. Cloudy peach golden color.
Vanilla and sour patch kids. Sour and tart, but light all around otherwise. Not much flavor for the high abv. This is a pass for me.

Poured into a Nonic pint.
Pours dishwater-watermelon with more head and lacing than anticipated.
Aromas of strawberry, lactose, and darker berry.
Tart wheat on the tip of the tongue. The fruit becomes more discernable in midstream, with strawberry and blackberry notes. The raisin/currant sweetness is more prominent than most, and that's nice. Vanilla and The malt/booze level almost pulls this out of sour territory, but not quite. The booze is awfully well hidden.
Clearly oats in this one lending some creamy feel. Tart and tangy, but very approachable. A bit drying at the finish.
This brew is a great example of why some things should be rated "to style" as much as possible. If it was a wild ale, it would be a "pretty good." As kettle sours go, this is pretty complex and nuanced. Who needs fruit puree, dammit? The vanilla notes and oat creaminess make this one of my favorite kettle sours.
