Poured from 750 mL bottle into Darkness snifter.
A: Pours thick and pitch black with 1/2 frothy dark mocha head that gradually settles to a thin skim. Leaves behind a good amount of sticky lacing on the glass.
S: Raspberry and smooth dark chocolate. Molasses, char, a nutty note (?pistachio ?almond), and a hint of salt.
T: Bright tart raspberry with smooth dark chocolate. Molasses, charred caramel, and a touch of salt in the finish. With warming, the pistachio note emerges in the finish…goes well with the salt note there.
M: Medium body. Bright tart raspberry is a dominant element…which is surprising, refreshing, and nice…lightens the feel. The dark and malt sweetness notes play more in the background.
D: This was a very pleasant surprise! Darkness variants unfortunately have a habit of taking a step or two backwards from the base beer..sometimes trying to do too much. This one takes a couple steps to the side…forging a new and distinct path with great results!

On tap. Tan head. Black color.
This honestly tastes like BA darkness with raspberry. The other flavors don’t show much. Maybe the sea salt. Chocolate, dark fruits, molasses. Classic darkness flavors. Very solid and good raspberry integration.
