Poured from 750 mL bottle into Darkness snifter.
A: Pours a very dark brown hue with 1/2 inch dark mocha that gradually settles to a thin skim.
S: Sweet bourbon, smooth dark chocolate, molasses, leather, and a hint of dark dried fruit.
T: Whoa…blast of red wine followed by smooth dark chocolate, strawberry/cherry, and lesser notes of bourbon, molasses, leather, and vanilla.
M: Medium heavy body. Coating and slightly acidic feel. Brighter red wine and berry sweetness along with deeper dark sweetness. Lingers nicely on the palate.
D: The aroma was pretty much spot on bourbon barrel aged Darkness. But there was a hidden red wine note that jumped out on the first sip…lovely surprise! Definitely an enjoyable variant!

On tap at darkness day. Tan head. Lace. Black color.
Nice variant of darkness but still tastes like darkness. The French oak finishes adds a lot of wet oak and tannin like flavors. Molasses, dark fruits, chocolate, caramel. Bourbon. Red wine like finish. I don’t know if the French oak was wine barrels or not, but I could see it.
