It doesn't really taste "like an old-fashioned whiskey cocktail." However, it is remarkable for doing an outstanding job of getting the bourbon-barrel age taste right. Too often barrel aged beers are too oak-y or too bourbon-y (in a pickle-y way). But this one is smooth, and yes there is a hint of citrus. Great beer. Had it on tap at Far Bar in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles.

Smell: Orange marmalade and oak.
Taste: Orange marmalade, bourbon, and oak.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied.
The Verdict: Awesome. Smooth and complex, it was aged on orange peel in bourbon barrels. I don't remember the ABV, but it was fairly high. Really good brew.
