500ml bottle, served slightly chilled in a Young's nonic pint glass
Pours with a rich amber body, quite a bit of haze from the bottle conditioning. Thick orange tinted white head forms about an inch thick. Tonnes of thick patchy lacing up and down the glass
Smell, freshly hopped mash, some musty malt, slightly perfumy floral aromas. Some noticable citrus and a tiny amount of brett character, some alcoholic vapours too
Taste, crisp and slightly boozy yeast flavour. Muddles of English hops, a reasonable level of bitterness and a little touch of spicy malt. Some raw alcohol on the finish
This brewery produces some solid ales, bottle conditioned and fresh however so far they fall a bit short. This is one of their biggest beers yet seems very similar to alot of their others only with a little more alcohol and malt. Solid and drinkable but pretty uninspiring. I paired the second half of this bottle with a nice tikka masala and peshwari rice... good combination
