A foul and spoiled beer, hopelessly corrupted by bacterial contamination. Putrid aroma, painful taste. Sorry, but I cant find anything kind to say about this one and Ive gotta put it down as undrinkable. I couldnt bring myself to consume the full pint and discretely dumped half of it down the drain.

This beer comes on tap (a party pig actually) and I drank it from a pint tumbler. It is a German style wheat beer, using dark roasted grain. A little unusual.
This beer is dark brown to black in color, with a red/copper hue when held up to the light. The head is a light brown/beige, with large bubbles, but is gone quickly with very little lacing on the glass.
The smell is smoky and robust. It smells malty with a distinct roasted grain aroma. Very nice.
The taste is smoky, malty and very smooth. The beer is mild but full flavored, with a mild hop finish. The aftertaste lingers and is also smoky, slightly sweet and smooth.
This is a very nice dark beer and is very drinkable, if a little filling. I have encountered Dunkel in the early fall, at Deuchesfest, a community festival where Dunkel is brewed. Its a nice year round beer, and would be good any time. The Dunkel has a smoky, smooth, slightly sweet feel about it. Its great, a bit uncommon (depending on where you live), and an excellent change of pace!
