If you can get past the social stigma of walking into the only brewpub for 50 miles around, swaggering up to the bar and ordering a pint of Golden Wuss, you just might enjoy this brassy crossover beer. You might also need to get over the infected aroma, which was troublesome though its brush against the taste was not overly corrupting. Golden Wuss is (of course) pale yellow – almost lager-like. Its modesty is its virtue and in a region where monstrous combines harvest thousands of acres of grass this time of year, it makes for a very decent lawnmower beer.

The only Rocky Coulee brew I have not purchased in a party pig. I had this one in the tasting room, served in a pint tumbler.

Pours a pale gold color and is clear. A moderate head dissipates quickly.

The smell is mostly of malted grain.

The taste is a biscuit or cereal flavor, with very little hop presence.

The mouth feel is light and crisp.

This is a very drinkable beer, but under-flavored when compared to other Rocky Coulee brews. It is their “light” offering, so it has fewer calories and a lower ABV than the other brews.
