The images we draw for this pale ale are a quiet forest in Miyazaki, refreshing, crisp air, and a gentle mountain stream. We use generous “cascade hops” which have a soft bitterness and a citrus aroma. This fragrant, mellow yet rich American pale ale gives you a “divine” experience of light bitterness and lovely aroma.

Bought this at the Miyazaki airport and was really interested in trying some of their local beers as the locale of Miyazaki is quite similar to California with a long beach to the Pacific and similarly warm weather conditions all year long (we went there right after Christmas and ate ice cream on the beach in bright sunshine)...
Although I only had this one beer from Hideji I can't comment on the whole Miyazaki craft beer scene but if all are like this then they are very well the counterpart of California in Japan! This was an American pale ale snd what should I say: it is very much like the original!
Has a quite rich, dark amber hue and smells of hops, the way it should. Very fruity both in its taste with not much bitterness but this is exactly how it should be.
I was very satisfied with this beer, because this Hideji brewery was able to produce something really rich and original - though quite American - unlike many other Japanese breweries that seem to be lacking something... This one has all that you need.
Wish they had an IPA, would be very interested in tasting it.

330ml bottle served in a little hotel glass in Mizonokuchi. Brought to me by a co-worker in Miyazaki. "Best Enjoyed Before" 2017.06.20.

Pours clear pale golden with a smallish head that fades pretty fast. Smell is a little greener than a standard pale ale in my experience. Not bad, just a bit vegetal. Clearly hoppy, but not overpowering.

Taste is crisp, bitter, and more green. Vegetal, with a strong hops flavor without overpowering hoppy bitterness.

Mouthfeel is dry and crisp. Overall, I'd say it's a pretty good pale ale.
