My goodness, but the reefer is giving up its dead here at Chez Woody as the purge of the Bottle Backlog continues unabated! This was brewed as a commemoration of a then-newfound venture between Fat Head's & Rogue. I bought several & somehow, this bottle still exists.
From the Bottle: "10 Ingredients[;] Great Western Harrington, 2-Row, Great Western Crystal 60 Malts.; Willamette, UK Golding & Amarillo Hops; Free Range Coastal Water and Top Fermenting Pacman Yeast.[;] No Chemicals, Preservatives or Additives."; "Brewed especially for Fat Head's Saloon, Pittsburgh. An English style bitter, amber in color with a mild hop finish."; "35 IBU[,] 317 Lovibond[,] 75 AA[,] 12 Plato"; "Chill out man. Have a beer!"; "100% Pure Rogue".
If the previous bottle was ancient, this one was no less so. As such, I took my sweet time in
Pop!ping the cap & following it with a slow, gentle C-Line pour. Once I had a sufficient amount in my glass, I gave it a swirl to raise a brief finger of fizzy, foamy, pillowy, tawny head with modest retention, evincing an anxiousness to return to wisps. Color was Coppery-Brown (SRM = > 17, < 22) with NE-quality clarity. GORGEOUS! Nose had a toasted malt & honey biscuitiness. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was definitely malt-driven with a freshly-baked breadiness, a slight honey-like sweetness & a toasty, biscuity dryness. It was extremely easy-drinking & very pleasant throughout. Finish was in that Twilight Zone between semi-sweet & semi-dry, probably closer to the latter than the former, but it's kind of a moot point as it's long-retired. 8=( YMMV.
